SSC CPO Selection Process

The CPO exam is divided into 4 stages.

1. Computer based test (Tier 1/ Paper 1)
2. Physical Endurance Test /Physical Standard Test
3. Computer based test (Tier 2/ Paper 2)
4. Medical test

The details of the 4 stages are as follows:

1. Computer Based Test (Tier 1/Paper 1) – 

This is the first stage of the exam. It consists of a test of 200 marks, which has 4 sections and each section has 50 questions, each question carries 1 mark and if the question is answered wrong, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

2. Physical Standard Test/Physical Endurance Test – 

Those who clear Tier 1 or Paper 1 are eligible for this test. This is compulsory for both male and female candidates who have cleared CBT. This is done to test the body strength and stamina of the candidates. The Physical Standard Test is taken first and after passing it, one is sent for the Physical Endurance Test. In this test, height and weight of male and female candidates are measured. After passing this, the candidates are eligible for further test or if they fail, they cannot give the physical endurance test. To pass this test, the chest and height of the candidates are measured and only height is measured in female candidates. Some details given below:

Height of male candidates – 170 cms Height of female candidates – 157 cms 
Chest for male candidates – 80 cms (Unexpanded), 85 cms (with Expanded)Only for male candidates 

Physical Endurance Test –

This is an important test in which both male and female candidates are tested. In this, two types of races are conducted for male candidates, high jump, long jump and shot put. Also, two types of races are conducted for females, high jump and long jump. Their complete details are as follows:

3.Computer Based Test (Tier 2/Paper 2) – 

After clearing Tier 1 and PST/PET, candidates have to appear for further tests again. There is only an English exam which is of total 200 marks and it has total of 200 questions and its duration is 2 hours. Like Tier 1, in this also 0.25 marks are also deducted for the wrong answer. After clearing this, candidates proceed for the medical exam.

4. Medical Examination –

After completing all the tests, the candidates have to appear for the medical test, which is the last stage of this exam. This test is conducted under the supervision of CAPFs Medical Officer and Grade 1 Medical Surgeon. For those who are unfit for this, a test is taken again which is called a Review Medical Examination.

Job Profile and Salary –

You Will Get All Over India Posting for Both SI & CAPF Post. After clearing the CPO exam, you get the opportunity to choose a post under Delhi Police SI and CAPF. There are many departments under CAPF’s which have different jobs and postings like BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB.

Details for Delhi Police SI –  Its a field job and you have to serve your duty in Delhi lifetime. In this job you will work by the order of the Central Government. The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35,400-Rs.1,12,400/-) and is classified as Group ‘C’ by Delhi Police. This job will provides you all types of salary and perks like, DA,HRA,TA, Education allowances for children, Pension, Paid leaves & Uniform allowances.

 Details of Some CAPF’s Post –   The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35,400-Rs.1,12,400/-) and is classified as Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial.

1. CRPF – Posting all over India including border area.

2. CISF – Posting all over India in Airports, Headquarters, Metro stations etc.

3. BSF – Posting in Border Areas.
